BUILD UP CAMPAIGN
Illustration • UI/UX Design • Brand Strategy
Many women tackle DIY jobs around the house every day. Not many women work in construction. The brief was to create an aspirational campaign to change this. It took the format of a workshop event series, to make B&Q the go to brand for women on the professional journey. *concept project*
Project Overview
Developing a campaign for DIY retailer B&Q was a concept project. The goals of the campaign were to build the female professional market for construction materials. The brief was to create the campaign and corresponding app and print materials.
My Contributions
As a graphic designer, I created a campaign for an event series. I first undertook user research and analyzed existing campaigns by the brand. I crafted an illustration style to stand out from the brand's typical photography-heavy content, but that was in keeping wiht their bold approach to colour. The illustrations translated into posters advertising the conferences, signage, give-aways, and an event app. For the app I developed wireframes to reflect typical user journeys, focusing on the navigation patterns for situational use during workshops, while viewing project examples, and attending networking sessions.
